F.I.R.S.T.

The First Integrated Regional Senior Transportation (F.I.R.S.T.) Corporation in collaboration with the Senior Transportation Connection of Cuyahoga County is working to provide expanded, on-demand transportation services for residents 60 years of age and older.

Currently F.I.R.S.T. partners include the cities of Berea, Brook Park, Garfield Heights, Maple Heights, Middleburg Heights, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township, Strongsville and Columbia Township, North Olmsted Commission On Para-transit Inc., Quality Communities Partnership and the Southeast Senior Transportation Consortium. Other F.I.R.S.T. partners that are anticipated to be fully incorporated in the F.I.R.S.T. call center by July 2006 include the Jennings Center for Older Adults and Marymount Hospital.

Berea Jitney

The City of Berea is an active participant in the First Integrated Regional Senior Transportation (F.I.R.S.T.) Corporation. Residents 60+ years of age requiring transportation should call the F.I.R.S.T. Call Center at 1-800-983-4782 to schedule a trip.

Fares are as follows: $1 per one-way trip within the municipality or the nonprofit organization’s community that the passenger is picked up; $2 per one-way trip outside of the municipality or the nonprofit organization’s community that the passenger is picked up, traveling within the F.I.R.S.T. primary service area; $3 per one-way trip outside of the F.I.R.S.T. primary service area, based on vehicle availability.


Brook Park

The City of Brook Park is an active participant in the First Integrated Regional Senior Transportation (F.I.R.S.T.) Corporation. Residents 60+ years of age requiring transportation should call the F.I.R.S.T. Call Center at 1-800-983-4782 to schedule a trip.

Fares are as follows: $1 per one-way trip within the municipality or the nonprofit organization’s community that the passenger is picked up; $2 per one-way trip outside of the municipality or the nonprofit organization’s community that the passenger is picked up, traveling within the F.I.R.S.T. primary service area; $3 per one-way trip outside of the F.I.R.S.T. primary service area, based on vehicle availability.


Ehrnfelt Senior Center

The City of Strongsville and the Ehrnfelt Senior Center are active participants in the First Integrated Regional Senior Transportation (F.I.R.S.T.) Corporation. Residents 60+ years of age requiring transportation should call the F.I.R.S.T. Call Center at 1-800-983-4782 to schedule a trip.

Fares are as follows: $1 per one-way trip within the municipality or the nonprofit organization’s community that the passenger is picked up; $2 per one-way trip outside of the municipality or the nonprofit organization’s community that the passenger is picked up, traveling within the F.I.R.S.T. primary service area; $3 per one-way trip outside of the F.I.R.S.T. primary service area, based on vehicle availability.

Must provide a 48-hour notice.
Fixed route service.
$1.25 each way for adults, twelve years and older; .60 cents for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and for children, ages three to eleven; two and under - free.

Curb to curb service available.
Personal Care Attendant does not have to pay if client is ADA registered.
Lorain County residents only but travels to the county line to meet other transportations (Bus goes to North Ridgeville and Avon twice per week).
$2.00 each way for senior citizens, persons with disabilities and for children, ages three to eleven; two and under - free. Others $4.00 one way.

Middleburg Heights


The City of Middleburg Heights is an active participant in the First Integrated Regional Senior Transportation (F.I.R.S.T.) Corporation. Residents 60+ years of age requiring transportation should call the F.I.R.S.T. Call Center at 1-800-983-4782 to schedule a trip.

Fares are as follows: $1 per one-way trip within the municipality or the nonprofit organization’s community that the passenger is picked up; $2 per one-way trip outside of the municipality or the nonprofit organization’s community that the passenger is picked up, traveling within the F.I.R.S.T. primary service area; $3 per one-way trip outside of the F.I.R.S.T. primary service area, based on vehicle availability.

Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority

Customer Service Center

RTA's Customer Service Center is located at 315 Euclid Avenue near Public Square.
Customer Service representatives provide assistance on a walk-in basis as well as by phone or mail.
Services include:
Bus and rapid transit trip planning.
Discount pass and farecard sales.
Timetables and service brochures.
Lost & Found information.
ADA registration and transit ID cards for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

The Customer Service Center is open Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 6 pm. For additional convenience, a Customer Service Satellite is located in the Tower City Center Rapid Station during the morning and afternoon rush hours. Customer service representatives sell passes and farecards, provide service information, and make change for fares.

RTA Paratransit

Special transit services are available for senior citizens who turned age 65 before January 1, 1997, and persons with disabilities who qualify under Americans With Disabilities ACT and RTA's Complementary Paratransit Plan. Call to register for these services or for more information. RTA Fixed Route Service at 216-621-9500.
Available anywhere in Cuyahoga County. Only restrictions - if origin and destination are within 3/4 mile of mainline routes within a 5 mile radius of residence without access to mainline.
Scheduler available between 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Service available for senior citizens or persons with disabilities.
Must provide a one week notice.
Personal Care Attendant can ride for free if client has filled out an application stating the need for a PCA - otherwise they must pay $1.25.
Door to Door service is available.
A 24 hour service if adjoining mainline service operates 24 hours.

Senior Wheels - (440) 826-0800
Senior Wheels is a transportation collaboration between the Cities of Berea, Brook Park and Strongsville.

Eligibility: You must be at least 60 years old or a disabled adult and be a resident of one of the communities. Call (440) 826-0800 to schedule a trip.

Call Center Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

Vehicle Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Trips are scheduled based upon vehicle availability. Please contact the call center for a list of our city’s holiday observances.

Scheduling: All trips must be scheduled by noon the day prior to the scheduled trip or up to 7 days in advance. If you call during business hours and get the answering machine, please leave a message. We will return your call by the following morning.

Fares: Fares range from $1 - $3 per one-way trip depending on your destination. When you schedule your trip you will be notified of the fare.

If you complete a medical appointment more than 30 minutes early please call (440) 826-0800 and we will try to make arrangements to pick you up earlier. If you need to cancel a trip please try to notify the call center 24-hours in advance.

When scheduling your trip, you will need to provide your name, address, phone number, trip destination and suite or room number of where you are going, time of appointment or requested pick up time, return time and other pertinent information. The scheduler will confirm your pick up and return times.


Senior Transportation Connection of Cuyahoga County
If you are 60+ years of age, reside in the City of Middleburg Heights, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls or Olmsted Township and require transportation please call the Senior Transportation Connection (STC) of Cuyahoga County Call Center at 1-800-983-4782 to schedule a trip. All trips must be scheduled by noon the business day prior to the scheduled trip or up to seven days in advance. If you call during business hours and get the answering machine, please leave a message. Your call will be returned by the end of the work day.

Call Center Hours of Operation – Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Holidays recognized according to those dates officially recognized by your municipality.

Vehicle Hours of Operation – Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm based upon vehicle availability.

Primary Service Area – Residents may travel throughout: Berea, Brook Park, Columbia Township, Middleburg Heights, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township and Strongsville. Other destinations are based upon vehicle availability.

Mandatory Fare – There is a $1 fare per one-way trip for residents traveling within the municipality where they reside. There is a $2 per one-way trip for residents traveling to locations outside of their primary residence but within the Primary Service Area. There is a $3 per one-way fare for trips outside of the Primary Service Area.
If you complete your appointment more than 30 minutes early, please contact the call center and to make arrangements to pick you up earlier. If you need to cancel a trip, please notify the call center as soon as possible.
